The Great Backyard Bird Count is an annual, global citizen science event, February 13-16, where bird lovers of all ages help observe and record bird sightings over a four-day period. Your observations help scientists track bird populations and migration patterns—supporting conservation efforts for our feathered friends worldwide.
Celebrate this amazing citizen science program at Pleasant Hill Lake on February 14 and help record sightings at our park! All skill levels are welcome.
1:30 PM             Intro to Bird Identification – Meet in the Welcome Center to learn about Ohio’s common bird species and how to identify them.
2 PM                   Bird Count Walk – Dress for the weather and take a short walk around the Welcome Center to spot, identify, and record sightings with a group.
2:45 PM             Hot Chocolate and Cookies – Enjoy snacks while watching the birdfeeder station, helping to identify and record what you see! Meet at the Welcome Center.
3 PM                   Birdhouse Craft – Make a fun birdhouse craft at the Welcome Center. One per family while supplies last.
